Pee in this cup

Mike took Layla to the ped. They can't do anything until they get a urine sample to find out what's going on. So what do you do when you need a urine sample? Yeah, right. How the hell do you get a newly potty trained toddler who is pissing herself because it hurts, to pee in a cup. On demand. It's. Not. Happening. The other options were to put a catheter in, or use a needle to extract urine. Are you freaking kidding me?

Mike has just taken her home and will play catch the pissing grumpy kid all day long, while my parents deal with the baby who won't take a bottle. And I'm sitting here with boobs about to explode because I forgot my pump parts. Not a bid deal when I thought he was bringing Evie out to nurse at lunch. HUGE deal now that he isn't. I think it would freak out the registering 7th graders if my boobs just exploded all over them. Oh well, it will be nice to provide trauma to someone other than my own children for once.

Worse case scenario is a UTI. The ped said it's probably just vaginitis (??) from bubble bath, or something like that. So why they wouldn't just treat for worst case scenario, I don't know. Now we have to catch pee, have pee tested (about 2 days) and then treat. Give me a break already. They didn't even send him home with a cream to help her.

Shit, shit, shit.

I mean pee. We just need pee.

  1. I feel for her. I've had a UTI for the last couple weeks. They gave me meds I can't take while breast feeding. Effers. Then they gave me 3 days worth of amoxicillin and I still think I have it.

  2. I've never had one, knock on wood, but I've heard they're painful. She is much better tonight, so perhaps it was just vaginitis. We'll know on Friday.
