Here's how I thank you, ma.

Mothers. To be a mother.

To have sleepless nights, endless attention required of you, constant motion, forever multi-tasking, eyes ALWAYS on you (little and big), and the end of your needs coming first.

Most walk this willingly, lovingly, selflessly, and with joy.

We are rewarded with beautiful little things. Eye contact, little smiles, snuggles and laughs. Who knew that a creepy little throat giggle could nearly move you to tears.

And when you think it couldn't get better, language begins.

And through all of the babbling, a single, first word emerges.

Da-Da.

What. The. Fuck.

  2. Beautifully written. I've been telling my LO MaMa all day after I read this. I'll be damned if she says da da first. He barely takes care of her. o.O
