We've had two play dates in two days. The first was with a little girl just a month younger than Layla, and she came over to our house. It was awesome, Layla was chatty pretty much from the get go and played really well with her. You have no idea how relieved I was when she was actually playing and talking. It was a huge weight lifted from my shoulder. But the celebration wasn't complete though since she seems to have it in her mind that she can talk when she is in the blue house (our house).
Tonight we went over to our friend's house. They have the two boys and a brand new little baby girl. Layla was a little slow to warm up, but by the end she was chatting away with the 4 year old and playing like a champ. It was awesome! I'm so proud of her, and cautiously optimistic that she can carry her new found sense of comfort with talking to peers into daycare next week.
Please Layla? Please.
