The best children's author. Ever.

Moms everywhere can recite a whole host of shit children's stories.

I've been Dr. Seussed to death.

Sandra Boynton, just no.

I can't stand Eric Carle.

And then I stumbled onto Mo Willems and his Pigeon books. He rocks. His books are straight up funny and kids love them. I thank the lord of all gay elves from middle earth daily for this guy.

And it doesn't hurt that my kid can recite, word for word, almost all of his books. It's a bit creepy watching her turn each page and "read" it. I'm totally cool with him teaching my kids to read. Cause I know I'm entirely too lazy to do it.

  2. OMG!! I LOVE Mo!! Last summer we took Knuffle Bunny on our road trip and even took him back to the actual laundromat (and washer) where the the trouble started. This year we took Pigeon everywhere. I'll send you the link to the pics - they are hilarious. PIgeon at Graceland, Pigeon at teh Alamo, Pigeon at the petroglyphs...

    Mo is my hero.

Thank God for a break from Dr. Suess and Eric Carle (though i'm aware that i can avoid Green Eggs and Ham forever. sigh.)

  4. Love Knuffle Bunny. Naked Mole Rat Get's Dressed is hilarious. Pigeon Wants a Puppy is awesome, but Don't Let the Pigeon Stay Up Late is fucking awesome.

This guy is a genius. We just got Layla on video reading tonight. I'll see if I can post it somehow.
